A Calm Place

Mindfulness

A steadier relationship with your own mind

Mindfulness courses and workshops designed to help you notice difficult thoughts and feelings without being swept up by them — drawn from an evidence-based approach used across the NHS.

8-week online course

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

An evidence-based course shown to reduce the risk of relapse into low mood and depression — particularly for those who have experienced three or more previous episodes. It also helps build everyday resilience to stress, by learning to relate to negative thinking patterns differently.

MBCT works by developing your ability to:

  • Notice thoughts, emotions and body sensations as they arise
  • Learn to sit alongside difficult experiences, rather than fighting them
  • Relate to yourself with more kindness and less self-criticism

Each class blends mindfulness practice, group discussion, and exercises drawn from cognitive therapy. You're never asked to share your personal history with the group.
